our second location!

this is the area where both killings take place and also where our artist performs lyrics to the song. I chose this area because it is easy to access and it is also a quiet area so there would be no interuptions whilst filming. filming took around 6 hours from 12-6 this was done so the artist could be in the light and the kilings could be in the dark to make them more realistic.

Inspiration for digi-pak picture

Inspiration for digi-pak

I have done research on the digipak design to get inspiration for the digipak we are making for the music video. I have looked at many of the grime Digipaks from other artist. The group felt that the digipak needs to have a grime genre feeling to it so the audience know what genre the music is going to be. I have looked at many pictures that signify the grime genre , one of the pictures was of a man in a hoodie looking up into the light which made me think straight away that this is a picture representing grime, we have taken this on board and felt we should be shooting picture in a dark location with the protagonists in the picture in hoodies. The hoodie is a good representation of grime because it is seen to be a stereotype of what grime is.

Props and Costume

The props we used in the music video were a knife which represents the whole narrative that we are sending out to the audience about gun and knife crime. The knife being shown in the music video helps the audience to realize what the video is about; in one of the scenes we show the main protagonist is looking at the knife he is going to use to kill someone. The message we are sending out is to stop gun and knife crime, we didn’t use a gun in the music video because the group felt a knife is used more in these situations and is easier to get a hold of. The protagonists in the music video had to wear cloths that represent the genre we are sending out which is grime, the costumes used in the video are hoodies and tracksuits which is a stereotype of someone who is involved in gun and knife crime, in the music video we also use a news reporter who is wearing a suit who is rapping to the lyrics of the song this shows the audience the seriousness of the situation of gun and knife crime. All the props and costumes we use in the music video symbolize something about the story of the music video and what we are sending out to the audience.

EDITING THE MUSIC VIDEO

The group is currently editing the music video, we are putting the scenes in order to make the video look like there is a narrative. The group felt that there should be scenes of the artist rapping in between the narrative being shown, this is because it would make the music video more affective and wanting the audience to know what message the music video is presenting to the target audience. The group has also made some of the scenes lighter in the music video, this is because we felt it is important for music videos to be light and eye catching to the audience so they can keep watching the video. Also to be able to see the mise-en-scene of what is being shown in the music video.
